The average person spends about 4 hours daily, on their phone or social media . That is so much time of our lives going to waste, especially if you don’t make money on social media.
We know what they say, ‘if you say ‘yes’ to one thing, you’re saying ‘no’ to another’. That is 4 hours you could’ve used on reading a book, going to the gym, or selling one more of that product that makes you money. Imagine how much better our lives will be.
If you’re looking to drastically cut the the amount of time you waste on social media, here are some tips that have helped me so far;
1. BUY / WEAR A WATCH
If you’re one of the people who checks the time on their phone, buying a watch can drastically reduce the amount of time you waste on your phone. You’re no longer tempted to check notifications and respond to texts.
2. CHECK EMAILS ONLY ON YOUR COMPUTER
You know you pick up your phone to check emails, then a notification pops up and before you know it, you’re on Instagram watch funny skits and baby videos? That will come to an end if you’ll just check and respond to all your mails on the computer.
3. TURN OFF SOCIAL MEDIA NOTIFICATIONS
Don’t let social media dictate when or how often you need to check your phone. Mure all your apps and check your phone at intervals. So you are t Che king every time your phone chimes / vibrates.
4. RESPOND TO TEXTS IN BULK
Wait until you have 5/10 texts before you respond. Then put your phone away for another hour or so for the texts to build up, then respond. It may be annoying to the other person but remember, if you’re saying ‘yes’ to texting them back all through out the day, you’re probably saying ‘no’ to a task you may need to complete.
5. ACTIVATE THE GREY SCALE FEATURE ON YOUR PHONE
I love this feature because it pretty much makes everything on your phone black(grey) and white. You can imagine how that’ll be scrolling through Instagram and everything else is black and white. It’ll only be a number of minutes before that phone goes down.
Trust me, we probably all enjoy watching skits for hours and checking out content that exists us but if that’ll mean putting our goals and plans on hold, then I don’t think it’s worth it.
Please share with me your tips on reducing the amount of time you waste on your phone or social media. I’ll love to learn other tricks.
Also SHARE this with whoever may need it. Cheers and have an amazing week.
